At Papaya, we were inspired by our trade partner Unfolded, and their considered, cohesive approach to interior design in the Vaucluse Residence Project. Located in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the home beautifully realises urban coastal living. The finished result of the renovation sees a light and open series of spaces connected through a harmonious collection of neutral and muted elements that have an enduring finish suited for a growing family.

There is a focus on materiality, texture, and finish with a contained palette. Throughout the living, dining and kitchen space, a harmonious pairing of cool-toned marble and the warmth of timbers interact with the incoming light and give a beautiful richness to the home.

Offering a balance to the lighter areas of the home are accents of vibrant colour and earthy tones, adding an unexpected playfulness. While a base of subdued tones sets the mood, there is a celebration of colour in the interior styling. The central living space features the Linie Arguto Rug - Rose by Linie Design. Comprising carefully considered shapes and blocks of colour, the design creates an artistic statement, whilst retaining a sense of harmony and balance. Also featured in the space is our effortlessly versatile Hudson modular in oat, a customisable sofa from our Design By You collection.

A liberal use of timber throughout the home visually defines each space and ensures a cohesive interior, from oak cabinetry finishes to solid oak furniture pieces. Natural solid oak has been used throughout the living and dining space for warmth. Styled in the inviting living space is our Cantaloupe Occasional chair in solid American oak with tan leather, paired with the Noah Oak stool - Natural. The warm leather accents are tied in with the eco-conscious patchwork design of the Flynn leather ottoman.

Unfolded's beautiful pairing of natural materials and simplicity in design continues in the functional and open-plan kitchen/dining space. The warmth of oak kitchen cabinetry works harmoniously with the solid oak Benson dining table, elegant Raglan dining chairs, and timber-framed artwork by Serena Elle. Papaya’s signature sculptural decor is styled throughout the heart of the home. Highlighting materiality and strong silhouettes, the Tula vase, Lotus curved bowl and Thea bowl give an organic feel to the interiors.
