Art. Always a point of discussion, so rather than just talk about it, why not create it. Be a maker, creator, painter, draughtsman. From charcoal and pastels to acrylics and oils, the thickest of watercolour paper and the softest of brushes. We hope these art stores fill you with as much wonder and creative energy as they do us.

Art on King

Newtown

We love its close proximity to our head office, but also its tightly-packed shelves and store space. No space to swing a cat, but just row upon row of art materials to delight. Gift these goodies in wrapping paper so good you’ll want to frame it. And when you leave with your paper or paints, the bag itself is inspiration enough to paint your own picture. There are books, too.

Parkers Art Supplies

The Rocks

Paint your own picture-perfect postcard of Sydney Opera House. Crossing the iconic Harbour Bridge the other day, a meander through the back streets of the Rocks seemed the best way to avoid the crowds of tourists. Stumbling across an instagram-worthy window of paint charts, this charmed us beyond belief. Shelf upon shelf, drawer upon drawer of art supplies. Heaven. So wander around, be inspired, get lost, look up. You never know where you’ll find inspiration.

Tilly’s Art

Rozelle

The art shop equivalent of a custom-made art box with everything in its neatly-arranged place. Each material is easy to find to buy just what you need. And they have a few added extras. Looking for an easel to display canvases at an event? Hire one here for just $5. After a handmade canvas? They can stretch to your own specifications (even non-standard sizes) or frame canvas artworks.
