This harbour city is a hive of inspirational art and beautiful galleries, such as the MCA for its views alone and the Gallery of NSW in the Domain, for its grandeur. Wander through some of the maze of streets of Sydney and you never know what you may find.

Art Gallery of NSW

This impressive classically-designed gallery, hidden amidst the greenery of The Domain in the centre of Sydney, is home to a huge collection of artwork from all over the world. Entry is free, as are the majority of exhibitions shown. Art After Hours is on over the summer months, with all sorts of tours, talks and music to make the most of longer evenings.

White Rabbit

Chippendale, Sydney

As the name suggests (alluding to Alice in Wonderland) you can lose yourself in a magical world of contemporary Chinese art from 2000 onwards, displayed over four storeys. There are works by over 500 artists and you can see it all for free. We also love the Teahouse on the street level: a perfect spot to sit, sip and relax.

MCA
The Rocks, Sydney

Our favourite time to visit here is that golden moment of an evening, as the sun’s rays hit the water and reflect off the glass facade. In an iconic location by the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, the gallery is a must-see in itself. The airy space and clean lines create the perfect backdrop to showcase the various exhibitions held throughout the year.
